Crochet Pricing Calculator
To price crochet, add your yarn and other materials, packaging, a share of the pattern price and your pay (hours x hourly rate) plus overhead, then divide by (1 - profit margin - selling fees) and round up. Rush and design fees go on top, and shipping and sales tax are kept apart from your profit, so you see what the order really earns per hour.
Price every crochet piece you make
The Crochet Pricing Calculator workbook on Etsy uses the same math as this page and adds:
- Cost yarn the way you measure it: yards, meters, grams, ounces or whole skeins, from the label once.
- Save the pieces you make again and again - an amigurumi, a beanie, a throw - then pick one and how many.
- Cost every extra: safety eyes, stuffing, floss, buttons, labels and keychain rings, with units converted.
- A one-page customer quote with your shop name, price, deposit and balance, ready to print or save as PDF.
- A Price List of your quotes, plus a Yarn Weights tab with gauge and hook sizes in mm and US.
One .xlsx file for Excel, plus a link to make your own copy in Google Sheets. Instant download.

Questions
How much should I charge for an amigurumi?
Add the yarn and stuffing, safety eyes and other materials, the packaging, a share of the pattern price and your hours at your hourly pay, then divide by (1 - profit margin - fees). In the example, a 5 in bunny with 3 hours of work at $15 comes to $69 with Etsy fees counted.
How do I price yarn I only used part of?
Type the skein price and its size from the label (yards, meters, grams or ounces), then the amount you used in the same unit. Weigh the finished piece on a kitchen scale and type the grams - only the part of the skein you used is charged.
Should I include the pattern price?
Yes, but spread it out. Type what you paid for the pattern and how many pieces you expect to make from it; each order then carries only its share.
What hourly rate should I use for crochet?
Many makers start at $12 to $20 an hour. Your pay is part of the cost, so the profit margin is on top of it, and the result shows what you really earn per hour after fees.
Can I give a wholesale price for crochet?
The calculator shows half of your price (without rush or design fees) and a plain answer: whether that would still cover your costs and your pay.

- This free calculator prices one order with one yarn at a time and does not save anything.
