Resin Pricing Calculator

To price resin art, add up what one piece costs you - the epoxy you mix, molds, pigments and hardware, your prep, pour and finish time at an hourly wage, heat mat power, packaging and a share of your monthly costs - with failed pours carried by the good ones. Then set the price so that after Etsy fees and postage you still keep the profit share you pick (40% of the price to start), or use cost x multipliers or check your own price.

Price every resin piece you pour

The Resin Pricing Calculator workbook on Etsy uses the same math as this page and adds:

  • Mold wear by the pour: a $15.99 coaster mold that lasts about 50 pours is $0.32 a pour.
  • Pigments and inclusions - mica, alcohol ink, pressed flowers, gold leaf, crushed glass - each at its own cost.
  • Epoxy by volume or by weight, converted for you, from a materials list you fill in once.
  • Each piece built from a recipe picked from dropdown lists, with finished examples to start from.
  • Every piece on one Price List: cost, wholesale, retail, fees, postage, profit and profit per hour.

Questions

How much should I charge for resin coasters?

Add the epoxy you mix (not only what ends up in the mold), mold wear, pigments and cork backing, your time at your hourly wage, heat mat power, packaging and a share of your monthly costs. In the example, a set of 4 ocean coasters poured two sets at a time costs $28.82 and sells for $60 retail, $30 wholesale.

How do I work out the cost of epoxy per piece?

Type the kit price and size (gallons, fl oz or ml, both parts together) and the amount you mix for the session. A $89.99 gallon kit is about $0.024 an ml, so 500 ml mixed costs $11.89.

How do failed pours change the price?

Type the share you lose (10% = one in ten) - bubbles, a soft cure, a crack. The epoxy, molds, prep and pour time and heat mat power of the failed pours are carried by the good ones. Hardware you add after demolding, like cork pads, is not lost, so it is not raised.

Should I charge for cure time?

You choose. A pour cures for a day or more while you do other things; pay yourself 0% of that wait, 100% or anything between. A heat mat runs for the cure time and its power is counted either way.

Which Etsy fees are counted?

The transaction fee of 6.5% of the item price and the shipping you charge, payment processing of 3% of what the buyer pays (sales tax included) plus $0.25, and the $0.20 listing fee - Etsy US rates as of October 2026. Open "Etsy fees and sales tax" to change any rate, or set them to 0 for a cash sale at a market.
