Questions
How much should I charge for a wreath?
Add up the form, greenery, picks and ribbon, your time at an hourly wage, trim and spare, the box and packaging, a share of your monthly costs and the Etsy fees, then set the price for the profit you want. In the example, a 24 in grapevine wreath with a 10 in bow built 3 at a time costs $46.89, with $20.23 of materials and about 55 paid minutes at $20 an hour. Priced for a 40% profit and rounded up to the next $1, it sells for $113 and keeps $45.26 after Etsy fees and postage.
How much ribbon does a bow take, and what does it cost?
More than it looks: about 1.5 yd for a 7 in bow, 3 yd for a 10 in bow and 4.5 yd for a 12 in bow. Type the roll price and its length, then the ribbon the whole batch uses in yd, ft or in. Three 10 in bows of 3 yd each are 9 yd of a $6.99 roll of 10 yd: $6.29, or about $2.10 a bow before trim and spare.
How do I price a wreath that ships in a big box?
Type the box and padding in Shipping supplies, the postage you pay for the packed box in Postage you pay, and what the buyer pays in Shipping you charge. A box that large is usually billed by its size rather than its weight, so weigh and measure the packed box on the shipping label page, and include any oversize fee in Postage you pay. In the example the buyer pays $24.95 and the postage is $32 - the difference comes off the profit, and the result shows it.
What should I charge boutiques wholesale for wreaths?
With a target profit or your own price, the wholesale price is half the retail price, about what shops usually pay. For the example wreath, $57 wholesale leaves $10.11 over all your costs and your wage. To set it yourself, pick "Cost x multipliers".
Which Etsy fees are counted?
The transaction fee of 6.5% of the item price and the shipping you charge, payment processing of 3% of what the buyer pays (sales tax included) plus $0.25, and the $0.20 listing fee - Etsy US rates as of October 2026. Open "Etsy fees and sales tax" to change any rate, or set them to 0 for a cash sale at a market.
